1. Acceptance of Terms
By participating in any activity related to the Cowichan Valley Ravens (including but not limited to practices, games, team events, shop orders, and online communication), you (the participant and/or parent/guardian) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not participate in the Cowichan Valley Ravens program or use its online services.
2. Participation and Conduct
- Respect and Sportsmanship: All participants, parents, and guardians are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times. This includes showing respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and volunteers. Any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination will not be tolerated.
- Adherence to Rules: Participants are required to adhere to the rules and regulations of the governing hockey associations (e.g., BC Hockey, local leagues) and the Cowichan Valley Ravens.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Regular attendance at practices and games is expected. Participants should arrive on time and prepared. Notification of absences should be provided to coaches in advance whenever possible.
- Equipment: Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the required and properly fitted hockey equipment.
- Safety: Participants, parents, and guardians acknowledge the inherent risks associated with hockey and agree to take reasonable precautions to ensure safety.
3. Financial Responsibilities
- Fees: Participants are responsible for paying all required registration fees, team fees, and any other associated program costs by the specified deadlines.
- Refunds: Program refund policies are outlined separately and are subject to the discretion of the Cowichan Valley Ravens Executive.
- Fundraising: Participation in team fundraising activities may be required.
4. Official Merchandise Store & Third-Party Merchant (Donna Rose)
Official Cowichan Valley Ravens apparel and merchandise available on cowichanvalleyravens.com/shop are produced, customized, sold, and fulfilled by our official partner, Donna Rose (donnarose.ca).
- Merchant of Record & Payments: Payments for online store orders are processed directly by Donna Rose via Interac e-Transfer to in**@*******se.ca. Donna Rose acts as the exclusive merchant and fulfillment agent for all gear orders.
- Store Policies: All store purchases are governed by the dedicated Team Store Policies, which detail order processing, custom made-to-order conditions, returns, exchanges, pickup arrangements, and cancellation rules.
- Order Information Sharing: By placing an order in the store, you acknowledge and agree that your order details (name, contact information, item details, and pickup notes) will be shared with Donna Rose solely for fulfillment, payment verification, and customer support purposes.
5. Medical Information and Liability
- Medical Information: Participants must provide accurate and up-to-date medical information to the team.
- Medical Treatment: In the event of a medical emergency, the Cowichan Valley Ravens are authorized to seek necessary medical treatment for the participant.
- Liability Waiver: Participants, parents, and guardians agree to release and hold harmless the Cowichan Valley Ravens, its coaches, volunteers, and affiliated organizations from any liability for injuries or damages arising from participation in team activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Insurance: It is the responsibility of the participant and/or parent/guardian to ensure adequate medical and accident insurance coverage.
6. Communication
- Official Communication: Official team communication will be conducted through designated channels, such as email, team websites, or messaging apps. Participants and parents/guardians are responsible for checking these channels regularly.
- Appropriate Communication: Communication with coaches and team officials should be respectful and professional.
7. Team Property and Equipment
- Team Property: All team property, including jerseys, equipment, and other items provided by the Cowichan Valley Ravens, remains the property of the team.
- Return of Property: Participants are responsible for returning team property in good condition at the end of the season or upon request.
8. Social Media and Online Conduct
- Responsible Use: Participants, parents, and guardians are expected to use social media and online platforms responsibly and respectfully, avoiding any content that could be harmful to the team's reputation or the well-being of its members.
- Team Representation: When representing the Cowichan Valley Ravens online, participants should adhere to the team's values and guidelines.
9. Changes to Terms
The Cowichan Valley Ravens reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Notice of changes will be provided to participants and parents/guardians through official communication channels.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
